The purpose of this video was to showcase how everyday items can be used to create music. I was surprised to hear just how many different sounds I was able to produce from a matchbox. Some of the methods used to create the sounds included scratching the top of the box whilst tightening and releasing the hold of my fingers triggered a changing in frequencies. This technique was also applied to the scratching of the strike layer with tension applied from the matchstick governing the rise in frequency. A circular scratch pattern applied to the top of the matchbox produced a sound resembling that of a vinyl scratch. The microphone used in this video was a Sennheiser 416.
